EMPLOYMENT

We will be hosting open acting auditions for those dedicated individuals who have an extreme passion and creative talent for scaring the living crap out of people! At the Mansion of Terror we have a lot of fun at what we do, but it's not for everyone! Haunted House acting is a lot of hard work both in preparation for your role and throughout the season. It is also, extremely rewarding and fun! We are looking for those dedicated volunteers who want to become a part of our Scare Team family.

OPEN AUDITIONS:

September 6th from noon to 6pm and makeup auditions will be every Saturday in September from 2pm to 6pm. If you cannot make it to an audition please email: Jeremy@mansionofterror.com

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE AUDITIONS:

During the audition, you will be given some background and instructions as to the general operation of the haunted house. You will then be placed in two scenarios:

1. Strategy: You will be placed in a haunted house room which has distractions, a pneumatic animatronic, and many areas in which to scare patrons from. It will be up to you to use the distractions in this room to your advantage and strategically figure out where, when, and how to scare the patrons in that room. When is just as important as the other elements. A group of patrons will be sent through this room and then it's your turn to shine.

2. Improv: You will be placed in a room where there are no places to hide and no distractions. It will be you and a group of patrons. This will let us see how well you creatively think on your feet and how you can get in the minds of the patrons with psychological scares, effective use of body language, and strategy of using the different patrons in the group to your advantage.

INCENTIVES:

All actors receive "Actor Only" clothing with years of service. Each clothing item has one red skull for each year of service. These items cannot be purchased! They are strictly for the Scare Team. T-shirt designs are redone every year.

First Year: Actor Only T-Shirt

Second Year: Actor Only T-Shirt and monogrammed logo baseball cap

Third Year: T-Shirt, cap, and monogrammed logo black hoodie

Fourth Year: To Be Announced!

All actors are invited to an End of Year Party and Awards Dinner!

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

If you cannot work the entire seasonal schedule but would still like to come out and be a part of the team, you can come as a volunteer. We will have a limited number of volunteer positions open. Volunteers will receive a gift card of $75 - $300 (Best Buy, Simon Mall, or Walmart) and the same Actor-Only apparel. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and have reliable transportation. Volunteers must audition.

ACTOR TRAINING:

All actors and managers must attend actor training. Actor training is on Sat September 13th from 2pm to 6pm. Food and drinks will be provided. This will include:

1. Makeup and costuming.

2. Actor Training.

3. Review of all scenes in the haunted houses.

4. Safety procedures.

5. Mock opening.
